For the first time ever London will host AFRICA FASHION WEEK LONDON (AFWL, 2011), which will be a premier fashion week for African and Black inspired Fashion in the UK.

AFWL 2011 is a platform that will showcase top international fashion
designers alongside new and emerging designers who use African fabrics in
their designs, are inspired by the African culture, sell to the African
market, have ties to Africa and who want to cross over into mainstream
fashion, thereby creating an atmosphere for cultural exchange, a fusion of
western and African culture through fashion.

AFWL 2011 is produced and event managed by Mahogany Events who have over
15 years experience of producing fashion shows around the world.
Mahogany is also known for having organized the very popular black is
Invisible campaign which made the first and only ever All Black edition of
Vogue the highest selling print edition in history.

Show produced by Mahogany include Face of Sleek , Mahogany Bridal Show,
Top Model of Colour, Glasgow Fashion Week, Fashion Diversity, London
Fashion Week, The Big Search, Ms Uganda/Miss World to name a few.
Who can participate? New/Emerging Designers and renowned fashion designers.
• Any of these categories accepted: fashion design, textile prints,
accessories,bridal, jeweller, footwear, milliners lingerie and swimwear.

•15 models per show
•4 shows a day (Subject to change)
•40 designers for catwalk show
•3 looks a day
They also have a limited space of 20 exhibition stands for exhibitors to
showcase and sell their products to the public.
