African Fashion - Setting A Trend

African fashion designs are quickly becoming the latest source of inspiration for western fashion designers.  The versatility of African designs has led to the creation of many fashion trends.  African fashion designs have been used to create clothing, home accent pieces, and more.

African fashion designs are largely influenced by African art and other aspects of African culture.  The designs incorporate popular symbols, and often recreate tribal art.  Popular African inspired trends include crotched skirts, and loose knitted wraps or sweaters.  African design is not limited to clothing; items for the home designed with Africa in mind are also growing in popularity.

Throw rugs and decorative pillows inspired by African fashion are the perfect addition to any home. The vibrant colours, and unique patterns, found in South African designs can bring even the blandest dÈcor to life.  African fashion designs can also be used to craft rich wall hangings, or high fashion drapes.

African fashion designs are also the inspiration for many accessories.  The bright prints used to make traditional African clothing are perfect for purses, tote bags, and other fashion accessories.  Jewellery made using bronze, copper, mirrors, and sea shells have also become fashionable due to their African influences.

The versatility of African fashion designs makes the possibilities endless.  An inspired interior designer or a creative homeowner can use African fabric, home accents, and even towels to completely reinvent a home environment.  Meanwhile, a Fashionista on a budget can purchase African inspired fashion so that they will remain stylish without breaking the bank.
