SA FASHION WEEK 2011 - BLACK COFFEE, AMANDA LAIRD CHERRY & EPHYMOL

I have been meaning to post my review about the South Africa Fashion week 2011 show (SAFW), but been quite busy this week. Anyway here it goes!!

BLACK COFFEE

Black Coffee’s collection was very different, unique and eclectic. The detailing was fabulous, the models looked dramatic on the runway and the finishing touches looked uber luxurious. The designer stood out and certainly brought something different which I am always pleased to see.

AMANDA LAIRD CHERRY

As one of South Africa’s established designers, Amanda Laird Cherry went for a luxurious satin pants, the colour palette of neutral tones, tea, stone and orange making every piece ageless. Amanda Laird chose mostly soft fabrics and easy-to-wear silhouettes  in neutral tones which made it a commercially viable collection.

EPHYMOL

Menswear designer Ephraim Molingoana of Ephymol took the runway by storm with his nautical inspired collections. The key pieces within the collection were the striking red menswear suits, which lined the runway alongside other white, navy pieces and not forgetting the sexy men in shorts with well defined abs .
