Africa fashion International this autumn looks promising and in a couple of weeks all the action will be taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg South Africa, from the 20-23rd October 2011 the show will end excitingly with African Fashion Awards recognising the best designers. The list looks promising with a fair mix of designers from all African backgrounds unlike other shows.
I am also quite pleased to see newcomers like Duaba Serwaa from Ghana on the list alongside some of the best African fashion designers. We have high hopes and expectations of the selected designers and we wish them all the best. As it has been previously written here, it is exciting that Africa Fashion is gaining the recognition it deserves, but emerging designers need to align their business with the right organisations i.e. taking part in shows that is worth their money and believe me there are so many so called fashion events organisers who do not know the industry, but are purely in it for ripping the designers off so beware.
However, Africa Fashion International(AFI) is one of the best shows to showcase your collection with, recognising Africa fashion talents, trade expo and professional runway shows, AFI is definitely heading towards the right direction . we will keep you posted as soon as we get more information but for now these are the designers below.
